Description
The Osborne 1 was released in 1981 by Osborne Computer Corporation. It is considered to be the first commercially successful portable microcomputer and can be carried like a briefcase by a handle on the back. The keyboard is detachable, and attaches to the front of the computer, protecting the screen and other vulnerable areas while in transit. It includes dual 5.25-inch floppy drives and combined valuable software, notably MicroPro's WordStar word processor and SuperCalc spreadsheet, making it a significant value.
